APEGS Engineer-in-Training Canadian Graduate Category

There is a zeal for APEGS (the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan) professional registration among engineers all over the world. This zeal is gaining momentum rapidly. It is because Canada, especially the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, has so many growth opportunities for engineers. Apart from that, this registration will also bring them global recognition. In other words, their registration will be given value and acknowledgment across the world.

In the APEGS process, you need to become an engineer-in-training first to attain registration as a Professional Engineer. It doesn’t matter how much experience you hold or from where you did engineering.

You must show that you have satisfied the academic requirement for licensure as a professional engineer to become an engineer-in-training.

To know the application process to become an engineer-in-training, have a look at the two options given below.

The process to become an APEGS Engineer-in-Training:

Becoming an Engineer-in-Training process for a Canadian Graduate:

If you have a Canadian bachelor’s degree in engineering recognized by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB), you should apply under the Engineer-in-Training (Canadian Graduate category). Now, let’s move further and know the whole process.

You must follow the following steps as a Canadian graduate to apply for becoming an Engineer-in-Training:

The first thing you should do is to determine if you have a Canadian Engineering Accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Create a user account with APEGS.

You have to check your email for an ‘APEGS sign up verification’ from apegs@apegs.ca. The link in the mail will take you to the APEGS Central Homepage.

From there, you have to go to the ‘Applications’ quick link which is on the left side of the page, and select ‘Apply Now’. After that, choose the Engineer-in-Training Canadian Graduate application type. For online submission, pay the application fee using a credit card.

Go to Fees to see extra payment options.

Finally, you need to send the below-given documents to APEGS:

Confirmation of graduation by giving one of the below-given documents:

Option 1: Official Transcripts from the institution given directly to APEGS

(Keep in mind: These transcripts must include the date of convocation and degree given.)

For U of R students, see the university website:

https://WWW.uregina.ca/student/registrar/student-records/transcripts/index.html

For U of S students, see the university website:

https://students.usask.ca/academics/grades.php#Grades

Option 2: A letter from the Faculty of Engineering or College of Engineering in case of the convocation ceremony has not yet taken place

(Keep in mind: The letter must have your name, degree given, discipline and date of graduation.)

Option 3: Confirmation of Graduation form:

Identification proof:

Fill up and submit the Proof of Identification Form (fillable PDF). Besides that, attack a copy of the related photo ID signed by the guarantor.

Remember:

If in the application process, APEGS comes to know that you have not fulfilled the Good Character Guideline, then the authority will take action.

After you get approval, an invoice for annual registration fees, prorated for the remainder of the year, will be posted to your online profile. After paying your registration fees, you will be able to use the ‘Engineer-in-Training’ title. You will get an electronic image of your seal and a certificate in the mail. You are not required to have this certificate to start using this title.

Although we told you about the process of becoming an Engineer-in-Training as a Canadian, we advise you to hire an APEGS competency report writing expert so that you can prove your competency to the assessment authority without any problem. Apart from that, you should also take advice from them regarding APEGS experience reporting so that you can prepare much better for registration as an engineer.
